Telly Alert. #033:

Film School (IFC, premieres tonight at 10:30 p.m.)

NYT:

"And then there's Barbara. Barbara has a strange, broad-jawed face that gives her the look of an Italian character actress, and she has in mind a film about a monkey. She appears mentally forceful, though she's floridly introverted; most of her energy goes to taking care of her grandmother, for whom she runs errands and splits pills. (An agonizing scene involving the grandmother's compartmentalized one-month pill box, and the pills in it, is itself worthy of an independent film.)"

Fun Movie News. #111:

Linklater to direct The Bad News Bears remake.

The original is a classic, Matthau rules, Jackie Earl Haley!, etc. No, don't remake that. Billy Bob, eh? Nice. The Bad Santa writers, did you say? Very nice. Linklater? Yeah, remake this ASAP.
