If you have to go, you have to go.

Associated Press, 10/24/03:

Boxer Paul Spadafora, who gave up his lightweight title this summer, was arrested Friday morning for open lewdness and public intoxication, police said.

Officers on routine patrol spotted Spadafora, of McKees Rocks, urinating on a downtown street about 2:45 a.m., Pittsburgh police said.

Undefeated as a pro, Spadafora had been the International Boxing Federation lightweight champion, successfully defending his title nine times. He gave up the title, saying he could meet the 135-pound weight limit, and said he was moving up to the junior welterweight division.

Spadafora was released from the Allegheny County Jail on Friday, his promoter, Michael Acri, said. Spadafora told him he had to go to the bathroom badly*[QV emphasis added], Acri said.

A hearing was scheduled for Nov. 3.

*Seems reasonable. I mean, it's just some street in Pittsburgh, not a Presidential Palace. Yes, I did indeed Google "urinating".

UPDATE: Man. I thought this was just going to be a silly little al fresco peeing/"badly" post. No way. Spadafora ruined all that by shooting his girlfriend.
